MESSIAH'S KISS Announces New Lead Guitarist
May 22, 2007MESSIAH'S KISS, the German/American/British metal act featuring current RIOT singer Mike Tirelli (HOLY MOTHER, BURNING STARR),has announced the addition of lead guitarist Jason Banks to the group's ranks. "The brother of bassist Wayne, already known in the scene when he was playing for Blaze Bayley, among others, came to rehearse at the MESSIAH'S KISS 'headquarters' in Germany between May 18 and May 20," reads a posting on the band's web site. "The next rehearsals for the Magic Circle Festival on July 7th [in Bad Arolsen, Germany] are estimated for the end of June."
In addition to MESSIAH'S KISS, Magic Circle Festival will feature performances by headliners MANOWAR, GAMMA RAY, DAVID SHANKLE GROUP (featuring former MANOWAR guitarist David Shankle),HOLYHELL and MAJESTY.
MESSIAH'S KISS's third album, "Dragonheart", was released in March via SPV. The CD was mixed at Arena 20 studios in Hannover, Germany with producer Herman Frank (VICTORY, ACCEPT). All the instruments were tracked at Arena 20 while the vocals were laid down at the M-J.T. studio in Long Island, New York. Fantasy art master Luis Royo, who painted the cover for "Prayer of the Dying", created the artwork for the new CD.
MESSIAH'S KISS recorded the follow-up to "Metal" as a four-piece following the departure of guitarist Alexander Hitz. The band's current lineup is completed by guitarist Georg Kraft, bassist Wayne Banks and drummer Eckhard Ostra.
